A mastopexy procedure allows the nipple to be moved back to the center of the breast while creating a rounder, fuller breast shape.
To monitor your progress and to insure you are taking care of yourself properly, you will return to your surgeon’s office for a post-operative follow-up visit immediately, and then periodically thereafter. If an enlargement was done, post-operative care will be required this involves massaging of the breasts following postoperative programs, such as implant massage, which is crucial for the long-term effectiveness of your procedure.
Mastopexy is a safe procedure performed on thousands of women each year with no major complications. As with any surgical procedure, there are some risks. Your surgeon can give you details on these complications in a personal consultation. Remember that you can do your part in minimizing complications by following the before and after surgery instructions prescribed by the physician and staff.
The breast lift surgery is considered an outpatient procedure, and you will most likely return to the comfort of your own home the same day. You will need someone to take you home and stay with you for at least 24 hours.
The procedure will be done at Evolution MD headquarters. General anesthesia is commonly used. This means you will sleep throughout the procedure. In some cases, a surgeon may suggest local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. Both methods will insure your ultimate comfort during the process. Bandages will be covering the incisions. Patient will be dressed in a surgical or approved sports bra.
Provided you don’t do any lifting, you can most likely return in a week or two.
