Plasma Transfusion

Plasma transfusion is a simple and effective procedure that is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to help quickly heal sport injuries and musculoskeletal problems. Platelets are blood cells that help the clotting process also possess multiple growth factors that stimulate cell repair and regeneration. This mechanism is being used for cosmetic purposes for the production of growth factors, collagen stimulation, and fiber elasticity and therefore is helpful in anti-aging therapy.

Preparing for the procedure

Plasma transfusion is an outpatient procedure, the first step is a consultation with one of our doctors. We have offices in Miami and Miramar, each of our doctors will assess patient’s health, expectations, and motivations for this procedure/ Each of our cosmetic surgeon or advance nurse practitioner or physician assistant will determine if you are a candidate for the procedure. It is recommended not to take aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve or other anti-inflammatory before the procedure to avoid future complications or hematomas, it is also recommended to stop the pills and natural teas for one week before the procedure. Unless they have contraindications, all patients should take: – Vitamin E 400 IU daily – Vitamin C 500 mg daily – Omega 3 daily tablet

Procedure

First, we will perform blood tests to be sure that there are no contraindications for the procedure, after a small blood sample will be processed with a special mechanism to isolate platelets. It will then be injected into the area desired to achieve results. In the case of facial rejuvenation, these special cells containing growth factors and cell regeneration are those that will be transferred to the face or parts that need to be rejuvenated or relieved of pain.

Recovery

Being an outpatient procedure, recovery is almost immediate, it is recommended to use ice at the injection site to avoid the formation of small bruises. Avoid the sun, hard exercise, Turkish baths, sauna and swimming pools for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
