Chin, Cheek and Jaw surgeries are considered outpatient procedures. You will most likely return to the comfort of your home the same day. The procedure may be done in a hospital, outpatient surgery center, or in your surgeon’s accredited office-based surgical suite. Most commonly, local anesthesia with intravenous sedation is used, although in some cases, a surgeon may suggest general anesthesia. After the surgery you will be closely monitored and cared for in a recovery room until you are released to go home. Within the first 2 weeks after surgery; in most cases, can vary from person to person, you will be asked to return to the doctor’s office as needed until the final result is obtained.
